Fake Login Pages

A common phishing technique is the use of fake login pages.

They are often designed to look almost identical to legitimate websites and attempt to convince users to enter their credentials.

What Gets Imitated?

Attackers may recreate login pages for:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Google
  • Banks
  • Social networks
  • Online shops

Check the Domain

A padlock icon or an HTTPS connection does not mean that a website is trustworthy.

Phishing websites can also use HTTPS.

One important factor is which domain you are actually visiting.

The Safer Approach

If you need to sign in to a service, open the known website directly or use a saved bookmark.

Avoid entering credentials through unexpected login links.
